Enrique Estrada

Piano, Guitar and Drums

Enrique is a multi-instrumentalist who has taught guitar and piano for around 20 years and ukulele, and drums for 5 years, catering to all ages. His passion for teaching is rooted in the belief that music lessons enhance cognitive and social skills. Starting with classical piano and guitar, he later explored rock, blues, jazz, world, and contemporary music as well as other instruments. His dedication was recognized with the highest distinction for his master's thesis on music composition using genetic algorithms.

His teaching approach is adaptable, catering to each student's needs. Students can focus on technical skills or explore topics like music reading, harmony, improvisation, and arrangement across genres such as pop, rock, jazz, blues, folk and world. He encourages both singers and instrumentalists to work with him. Some students have performed at festivals or pursued music careers.

As a performer, he has taken part in numerous events across Mexico, Palermo (Italy), and Canada, including LatinSurrey, MakeMusic Edmonton, AstralHarvest, Polash, Bridge, ScotFestBC, Surrey Fusion, and AfroCaribbean Festivals. He showcases a diverse array of music, spanning from traditional styles to world music fusions.
