Sofia Hughes

Sofia Hughes is a singer, pianist, composer and music educator based in Vancouver. She is currently studying Jazz Performance at Capilano University, honing her craft in music under some of the best musicians in the country. Sofia’s musical journey began when she started taking piano and voice lessons over 10 years ago. From there, she has only continued to grow more passionate about music, performing in a wide variety of ensembles and venues across Eastern Canada. She has performed genres from classical, to jazz, to pop, and rnb and is passionate about any and all types of music. Now wanting to depart her skills from over 10 years of training onto the next generation of musicians, her goal is to give all of her students musical autonomy. Sofia emphasizes creativity, personal expression, and technique in her specifically tailored lessons. Above everything, Sofia hopes that she can bring the joy that music can inspire, to all of her students
